Microsoft Corp. and Thomson Multimedia unveiled an analog Internet-compatible TV on Tuesday which they hope will secure them a foothold in a market worth billions of euros ahead of the switch to digital TV transmission.

The flat-screen televisions, due in shops in France from February 2001, offer enhanced TV content and Web access and interactive services over analog phone lines and can be made compatible with digital services via a decoder.
