Microsoft System Builder licensing

I'm beginning to build more and more computers for friends and family. I build the things for damn cheap, but the software doubles the cost of the system. I'm thinking of doing this as a side job from time to time, so I was wondering if I could become a System Builder partner with Microsoft so I can install OEM software without having to rely on shaky (at best) practices like buying an OEM OS with a NIC card. Do I even need to or can I just call myself a System Builder and just buy OEM? Do you need to do a certain amount of business per year to qualify?

Reading Microsoft's site is like reading Chaucer. I figured I see if anybody here had any experience with or knowledge about this. Thanks.

Unless you're buying from a distributor you'll still have to buy a piece of hardware. It's the reseller's agreement that puts that into place. Being an OEM wouldn't exclude you from that.
