Doesn't look like that to me... looks like she's just putting a flyer of some sort in her purse

Yeah, sure... maybe an HTC flyer!

It's like an Apple store, but with stuff that I want in it.

It's like an Apple store, but with room for employees to dance.

... because it's not packed with customers like an Apple store

I haven't seen a Microsoft store, but it's funny that they even copied the style of tables that Apple uses.

It's actually going to be an integral part of windows 8 I hear. It will allow for free listing so you can send a link to download from your own site.

There is an approval process though, so we'll have to see how that goes.

edit:I'm an idiot. I thought it was the online store.

They have one up north from me (Oak Brook, IL) same shopping center as the Apple Store. :D

They sell Zunes... and business is booming

:hmm:

On that note, and with the Zune media players on the chopping block (though the Zune service lives on, and will be essentially limited to PCs and WP7 and surviving Zune-brand devices)... I really hope either Microsoft or one of the WP7 partners goes about creating a WP7-based media player, something in the vain of the Apple approach in a way. You have a phone platform, and the mp3/media-centered device using similar hardware and the same OS as the phone platform; the obvious difference is lack of cellular radios and the "phone" ability, but everything else is basically the same.

Samsung is going this approach with Android media devices. It would be interesting if they take the Galaxy Player approach with their WP7 lineup.

They're intentionally putting them as close to Apple stores as they can. Probably a bad idea.

Actually that's a good idea. I always wondered why they never had one... well apparently they do!

They never had one because they never needed one. You can go to any store that sells computers and buy Microsoft stuff.

I was in that one a couple of weeks ago. Lots of workers in the same colored shirts asking if I needed help etc... My son and I played on the large touch screen table top chess board, unfortunately I can't remember the name of it....

Also played with some of the higher end tablets running Windows 7 and that was about it...
