The Microsoft SOAP Toolkit version 2.0 adds complete support for the Web Services Description Language (WSDL) 1.0 Specification, Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI), and the SOAP Specification version 1.1. While the Beta 1 release doesn't include full support of these specifications, subsequent beta releases will fill out the missing functionality with a feature-complete version delivered by the end of the first quarter of 2001.
Microsoft is also announcing that the final release of SOAP Toolkit version 2.0 will be fully supported by Microsoft product support.
With the SOAP Toolkit version 2.0, Microsoft has responded to customer requests to make some critical architectural changes, primarily to support the latest level of standards specifications and to implement a programming model designed for rapid developer productivity. These changes might require that you modify some of the existing application code that you've written using the SOAP Toolkit version 1.0 sample code.
