Microsoft says it'll be TWICE AS GOOD as Google in 6 months

i wouldn't doubt it. After all, MS definately has the resources to do it.

If the claim is "In six months we'll be more relevant to the average consumer" I wouldn't doubt it. They'd just have to pay Amazon to bundle their search in or something along those lines... if the claim is "in six months we'll be better than google", they're high.

"He said that Microsoft's goal -- but not its initial offering -- would go beyond finding URLs and instead focus in on the specific information sought by Internet users."

google also said they would add a new feature that would let people find specific things on a certain search topic also...Google does have the resources too does it not?

I dont know about you all, but if I were to search for a product or something, HALF of the time, the first page of links on Google is not relevant to my search. Obscure information is a bit more difficult to find and requires me to browse down to the third page or forth page or so.

I guess with the standards of searching, I suppose that is liveable. It could be just me though. 😛

That and the google ad links.... WORTHLESS. Most searches about things turn up at "SHOP at SHOPPING.COM" or "GOOGLE SAYS EBAY FTW." But that is better than flash ads that a few sites do.

I think Google was a bit better back in its prime. I would like to see MS pull this off really. I remember where I can search for something on google and get what I want 90% of the time on the first page.

i just talked to my friend who works at MS, he's a PM on the search team, he was like 'oh crap'. apparently the memo didn't get around to the people actually working on it 😛

resources aren't the only thing you need, or Microsfot cuold have done what google did a long long time ago.

I find it hard to believe that Microsoft is going to give me the search results I want; most of their products give me what they think I need, not what I want.

unfcuking believable. i will never use microsoft's search engine...btw what is their address to use it? google > * > microsoft
