Microsoft Said to Finish Windows 8 in Summer, With October Debut.

Will it be faster, LOL thats all I care about. I will disable Metro interface first thing I do when I install that OS in Oct of 2012. get rid of metro , and see how its identical to 7 lol That is too much RAM , its gonna use 2MB on bootup Im guessing since Vista and 7 use about 1500MB ram on boot up and no thick antivirus app intstalled....


it will eat my ram and I cant create music cuz I will get out of memory pop ups. I need 64GB ram to load all my samples into memory,, thx gl,

you can't disable metro, at least in the Consumer Preview you can't. You can hack it so on boot it throws you into Desktop Mode and use a 3rd party start menu but that's about it.

It does seem to be faster a bit, than Windows 7, and they've done a lot of under the hood improvements to it.

We also have yet to see if they keep the Aero glass as default or release a new desktop look that is similar to what Zune Desktop and Office 15 look like
