Microsoft has this new program where all students going through computer science classes in my school has access to all the WinNT5 based OS's, including 2K3 server, all the Visual Studio 6/Visio softwares, Windows CE, and all that crap.

Microsoft, hats off to you. You've just saved me atleast 200$ (possibly more, heh.)

Does anyone know if Microsoft has this program with alot of colleges?
 
They do; they want students to know only how to use their software when they enter the workforce so that they are unable to be productive without it.
Have no doubt, they are not doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. 🙂
 
Well, hell, I don't care. They gave me a free copy of XP! Now I can go and sell my old one I was gonna use. 😀

You might want to read the fine print on that student contract before you do that...
 
Yup. I got WinXP, Win2k, VS.NET and SQL Server for free. Too bad they don't have Visio listed for me anymore.

Saved me a lot of headache trying to use remote login on dial-up to work on VS.NET.
 
It's obviously a marketing scheme.
Why do you think Apple donates so many computers to elemenary schools?
They have to prepare the next generation of Mac freaks.
 
what's better than a student having access to the msdnaa website?

a net admin having full controll over the website.
 
Alas, once you go out into the real world it costs $2,300 a year (per person, not company) to keep getting the MSDN goodness. 🙁

Isn't CCNA a certification? Is this a college or high school? I got my CCNA in HS, but it's expired now :-(.
