Anywho, I'll bet this whole thing was orchestrated to show 8 as "more secure" when really all that happened, and a move I applaud is the inclusion of the Security Essentials engine as standard. That would explain the lower infection rate of OOB installs versus 7. As much as I dislike 8, it was a smart move.
