Microsoft RCP Patch slowing down IE?

ever since i installed that patch my IE (aswell as Crazybrowser) is acting slow as sh1t.

anyone know why this might be or have any more information?

it's not the internet in general cause opera is still lightning fast.

Use Opera. Mine didn't slow down, either.

My IE is not noticeably slower after the patch on either my work Win2K machine or my home PC with XP Pro. Both are > 2GHz machines, but I have seen no perceptible slowdown.

I tried Opera years ago and never really got into it, but whatever floats your boat!

it's not just being slow, i mean it's taking about 5 seconds to scroll down each post

I got the update from Windows Update a while ago, and never noticed any difference in browsing. P4 2.4 GHz here

Huh - I have not noticed anything like this.

i think mine is doing this

it is only for slow machines that would notice it i think

because this is a pentium dual pentium 133 and ie used to scroll fine but now scrolling and entering information in a text box of any kind lags like crazy like using the quick search box on the forums

it takes 10 seconds for the typing to show up

so i just installed mozilla firebird

how fast is your comp bennyD

hmm weird do you have the same problem with entering text into text boxes ?

also what OS because i'm on NT 4.0 here

efffects in IE are pretty bad also, just typing this message the letters are popping up a few at a time, it also has a big problem with selecting text.

just installed zone alarm and it's getting hammered on port 135 :/

My iOpener box slowed down like 50% in ie after the updates. But the 2 XP boxes are fine.

It's acting kinda sluggish on my pentium 2 300mhz secondary computer... but only with scrolling...

who knows, microsoft adds so much worthless code it isn't even funny..

it also doesn't help the fact that the internet is probably slow as hell right now anyways considering this problem... Thankfully I just have a router and that's that.
