Quote from Microsoft guy:
"Most systems didn't crash; they simply lost network connectivity," said Michael Surkan, a Microsoft program manager for its networking communications group. "There were hundreds of thousands of people who downloaded this, and we know of only a handful of people who had the problem."

Well, no sh!t sherlock, you didn't "know" about more people because none of them were online to yell at your dumb asses. They didn't even think to test it with popular antivirus software that I'm sure millions of people use?

LOL! Now those same people can't get the patch to fix their computer because they can't go online. Funny stuff.

This is sad. Considering the amount of resources MS has and they still can't manage to bring sometype of security and stabaility throughout their OperatingSystems...
If only apple wasnt behind in the hardware...

A White House plan completed this year instructed the General Services Administration to work with the Homeland Security Department to study the effects of software patches on hundreds of computer programs. The plan said the government will share its findings with the technology industry.

LMAO this would be the same government that runs Windows 95 workstations.

Believe it or not, there are people out there that know nothing about the things you just mentioned.

You think it's unreasonable for them to run some freaking tests of their patches? And that at least some of those tests should include popular antivirus software that a huge number of Windows users run?

If you actually go to the windows update site and manually download the software as opposed to auto-update, then you should be aware of the consequences and know about System restore.

The STUPID and LAZY article doesn't even mention which update it is! I have been sitting on Q815021 all weekend to see if anything turned up.

Idiot journalists.
