Microsoft product replacement

I'm sitting on a set of dead FS2002 Home discs. Disc 3 is raped (It magically scratched up while it was IN THE FRICKIN' CD DRIVE). The main executable on Disc 1 is corrupt. This is because Microsoft uses the cheapest CDs known to mankind.

Now, I bought these when FS2002 was new. Can I get Microsoft to replace them?

And I'm also disturbed by the method I have to use to contact them. I either have to call them long distance ($$$$ since I have no long distance plan - I could probably buy 3 copies of FS2004 for the cost of this call), call toll free and pay a $20 incident fee (I could buy FS2004 for just a little bit more) or use their "web service" thing and allow them to execute god knows what code on my system (I know, it sounds paranoid, but Microsoft does NOT need to find out about the ISOs of all their products that I keep on my harddrive after these discs were damaged in regular usage).

they won't charge you for incident fee for your particular type problem. usually they will determine your reason for calling before charging you.

Cheapest CD's? Microsoft? Get a better CD drive you cheapo. I've NEVER had a problem with Microsoft CD's. I have some from 5 years ago that are in perfect shape still. Quit trying to pin everything on Microsoft. You bought a POS computer...LIVE WITH IT.

Continued...

How can you blame a CD for getting scratched???? Are you a moron??? CD's are all the exact same dimensions. The ONLY way a CD can get scratched like that is because of a crappy CD drive. ARG!! You are so pathetic! Words cannot express how stupid you are for trying to blame a CD for getting scratched! IT'S THE DRIVE! Hello??? Earth to stupid guy??? Anyone home?

I agree. Dude, take a chill pill.

Also, I agree that EyeMWing is stupid though for blaming a scratched up cd on MS or the drive. The only way to scratch a cd in a drive is by having 2 in at once.

You can also tip the computer forward while the CD is spinning. Some drives don't care, others do. 😀

Darn MS for sending out there goons to come scratch your cd! they probably have a program on the disk that cause the cd to get scratched when played. that way you pay more to replace it!

no wonder bill is so darn rich! he scams people with his self scratching disk!
