I was wondering if anyone knows how come when I go to Microsoft Paint and go to File, Save as, File Type: .JPEG or .Gif I dont have those 2 options under file type. Does anybody know how to get those 2 options?? BTW, I'm using Windows98 SE. Thanks in advanced.

I'm relatively sure that Microsoft Paint can only save files in some form of bitmap (.bmp) format, and not .jpg or .gif

You'll have to get a third party program to convert the bitmaps to other file types. Check out CNET Downloads for one of these utilities.

MS Paint cant save gif or jpg... MS has a d/l on their site that fixes that so you can save as .gif or jpg, but i tried it a while ago, and it kept freezing when I tried to save it as .gif... just get Paint Shop Pro

If you have MS Office 97 or later, use the imaging software in there...handles .jpg files.

Windows 98 SE has support in Paint to save a screen shot, for example as a jpeg or gif. His system isn't giving him that option when it should. Weird.

I have regular win98 and it does give you the option to save as jpg or gif, but I find it loses quality cause the software sucks
stick with psp or something else

MSPaint for regular win98 can do it. See if you can't get it from someone and try it out. At worked I tried to use MSpaint in Win NT and it couldn't save as .gif so I took a copy of my MSPaint and it worked.
