Microsoft Outlook Message Problem

I open up Outlook today and get an error. Microsoft says the fix for that error is in an update, so naturally I update. Didn't help. What I have figured out is that an incoming message is causing the error. Outlook would open, then while it would in Send/Recieve mode the error would pop up after a couple seconds usually at 7.09/365kb in the bottom right corner.

I disconnected from the internet and when I started outlook I didnt not get the error, of course I can't get my mail either. I have backed up all my mail and contacts just in case, but is there a way to stop that incoming message, or at least the group of them, cause I dont know which is causing the error.

I could reinstall, but I fear that won't help, cause I already tried repairing which leads me to believe it is the message itself causing the error.

Thanks in advance. If you have question or need to see the error, let me know, I can try and get a screen shot.

OWA is Outlook Web Access. You can connect to your exchange server via URL and log on to get your email instead of using a client (application) such as outlook 2003 or 2007.

first question, is this a work email address or home email address that you have set up to use an outlook client? If it is a work issue, I suggest calling your helpdesk and have them assist you.

if it a home email address, then stay disconnected from the internet, open up the outlook client, and delete the offending email. once done, close outlook, do not open it, reconnect your machine to gain internet access, log on to your webmail provider and delete the email from your inbox.

It is a work email, and unfortunately, I am our help desk. I work for a small company(well technology wise). I am not an IT guy. The boss' friend or something setup an account at XO web hosting or something. I have gotten on and poked around to setup new accounts, but that is the extent. Unfortunately, I did not see a web based inbox or anything.

What I ended up having to do was setup my account details in Outlook 2003. It downloaded the mail just fine, so I am guessing that there may have been an issue with 2007's security features or something. Once the mail was brought to the 2003 client, I was able to sign on to 2007 and it picked up all my mail after that.

It is the first time I have had to do this in the year and a half I have been working here, so hopefully this is not a reoccurring problem. I wonder if I should go on the networking board and see if someone can guide me through transferring my companies domain to a place with webmail?
