Microsoft Outlook calender reminders

I've been trying to figure this out all day... I'm using the Calendar in Outlook XP, and I'm trying to get my reminders to show up without having the Outlook window open. Is there some way to do this? I don't even mind if Outlook is running in the SysTray (or whatever its called... by the clock) but I can't figure out how to do this, either. Someone please help! Thanks.

ok, I've got it to minimize to the sys tray fine, but is there a way to make it start with Windows without the Outlook window opening? (ie. start minimized to the sys tray) I've tried setting the shortcut to Run: Minimized (when I right clicked- went to properties- Shortcut tab) but it still starts normally 🙁
