Microsoft OMG WTF!?

So my intellimouse explorer for bluetooth stopped connecting to my computer. The keyboard still works fine, using it now.

I called up Microsoft Supplemental Parts, navigated their automated phone menus and then was instantly on the line with a CSR, no hold time. They asked how they could help, I said my mouse is no longer connecting and I'm pretty sure it's dead. Then they asked for the number off the bottom and they said the would ship me a replacement. It would ship on the 27th.

Woah, that was easy! But Microsoft wasn't finished.

I made the call before the holiday weekend. When I got home from work today, what do I find? A box. What's wrong with the box? It's oddly large.

Turns out they shipped me the entire optical desktop elite bundle, brand new, not just the mouse.

I guess they don't package the mice separately? Well now what do I do with the extra keyboard and usb bluetooth key? Gift for my inconvenience? 😀

Yeah that's typical. They don't want to have to pay for disposal of the old equipment either so they don't ask for it back.

wow, on the otherhand, i might be willing to pay for a wireless keyboard t compliment my wireless intellimouse...

Logitech does this too.

Mouse crapped out on me from a wireless combo, and they decided to send me a whole combo without having to send the broken mouse to them.

Last time i did that, they told me to go to my local staples for a replacement. They had called them, and told them about the replacement, and all i needed to do was bring my keyboard to staples and got a replacement that same night.

Be sure to buy the Harmony® 890 Pro Advanced Universal Remote this summer.

A couple years ago they were supposed to send me the pedal assembly for a Sidewinder Force Feedback Wheel. It arrived in a huge box, a complete USB Sidewinder FF Wheel was inside the huge box. MS is pretty good when it comes to hardware warranty.
