Microsoft mouse replacement question

I remember several years ago Microsoft would replace any Microsoft mouse that quit working. You had to fax a copy of the bottom of the mouse to a number at MS. Anyone remember this and does Microsoft still provide a lifetime warranty on their mouse products?
