Microsoft Money

just bought it...will let you know when it comes....people on amazon didn't seem to like it so I checked out the new quicken reviews on there as well and it was even worse.

I'm using a really, really old version (Money 3.0), but all I use it for is basic checking and savings account management.

I've just upgraded to Money 2005 Deluxe after using 2004 for the last year. I had used Quicken in previous years. They seem to be about the same functionally, with slightly different look and feel.

If you're going to buy tax software, you can get Money 2005 Standard free when you purchase TaxCut for $19.99. CompUSA often markes down Deluxe to $40, in which case you can get that free instead. NOt a bad deal at all.

The real beauty of either program is their links to banking and on-line bill pay. The newer versions of both programs are much better at this. You may want to check your bank's website to see if they have any preferences; I think Bank of America works better with Quicken.

Good luck!

My bank works with Money 2005. I am trying the demo right now. Not bad... I am moving out on my own and need something that can track all of my checks, payments, accounts, etc. This seems to work well so far.
