Microsoft Money questions

I know MS will be cutting off online usage Jan 2011, but I'm still interested in using it as it seems much nicer than Quicken. Have a few questions, a neighbor has 2007 Plus Home & Business he'll sell me. Is deluxe better than plus? I was playing around with it and it doesn't seem to have a feature to set up savings goals, unless I'm stupid I couldn't find it any ways. I want to put "I want a new car by [date]" and have it tell me how much to save to make it happen and keep track of things. I could have swore the '05 version I use to use ages ago did this. Anyone who uses Money and wants to chime in I'm all ears.

I use Money 2006, and will continue to do so. I never use the on line stuff - basically manage my accounts manually. Billk pay and all that stuff is done by my online banking program (BAC.) Money ismerely a check point. So, I really don't care whether or not on line services stop next year. I'll keep on keeping on.

hummm MS has released the final version called Microsoft Money Sunset, which is the 08 plus version without the online access. I downloaded it from MS's site and it apparently is free. Didn't see a page to buy it, and when I ran it under help it didn't say anything about a trial or an expiration date. Quicken has a boring ass interface, I know that's not important but it's like you're looking at a spreadsheet or something.

The 1st link you can't download, the Sunset version seems to be free. It definitely doesn't say anything about expiring or a link to buy when you install and run it. I think maybe because MS removed the online features they made it free. If it expires after a month or 2 I guess I'll have to buy it. If it does end up costing money I hope it's not expensive, I really am liking Money so far, I know I only used it for a few hours now but it seems perfect for what I need. My credit union wasn't on their list of banks any ways so the lack of online banking means nothing to me.

Do not buy the old program. On line services for that year 2007 program are discontinued after Apr 01, 201 (such as bill pay) .. FYI .... Quicken has a $9.95 per month Fee for on line bill paying.

Next link tells how to import MS Money Files into Quicken

As a long-time Money user who has tried to import files into Quicken, I can tell you that their conversion is far from perfect. For some reason, Quicken became confused by my past transactions and effectively blocked on-line bill payments! Quicken tech support had no ready answers, but sent me instructions to do their troubleshooting for them on my time and on my bank accounts. Great! I was effectively forced into making payments through my bank's on-line bill pay instead (which is free). Thumbs down for Intuit.
