I'm not sure but this other SUN java app SUCKS, dosn't even do what I need it to. I need something simple for "download applets only". Anyone know of any that integrate directly into IE?

what are you talking about? Sun is the inventor of Java. Download the JRE (Java Runtime Environment) and it should work automagically. Any applets that are embedded in the webpages I go to work just fine.

Also to my surprise when I tried to do a Windows Update in XP and what I didn't find was the usual MS JVM that use to be available as a download!

I've tried the Sun's JVM but some sites that use applets don't work with it?!

And what is this story w/ .Net?

Also, where will I be able to find MS JVM to download now? Does anyone have it?

There was some lawsuit thing between Microsoft and Sun microsystems... basically, Microsoft can't let you have it for free from them now, and I'm pretty sure when you do that "online update" when first installing Windows XP (before it's done installing) it removes the installation files for JVM.

Kinda sucks... oh well.

Send your compaints to Sun and let them know that you don't want them spamming your system tray!

Here are the terms of the settlement: Without admiting any wrong doing . . . MS pays Sun $20 mil and agrees to Sun's injunction :D
