Hope i dont get flamed for this, but i read this article randomely and was wondering if one was to sign up for the Microsoft ISP service to get 400 off a computer, is it possible to cancel after a month or two and not owe anything? read the article and also update me. If you can, then this is HOT! If not, be gentle with me.

Look at the date of this article (January 4, 2000) that's NINE MONTHS AGO!

Yes this was possible to go to Best Buy, Office Depot or other stores, buy $400 worth of stuff, sign up for a 3 year MSN contract get a $400 instant discount then walk out of the store and pay for a bag of $0.59 rubber bands while getting your Palm Vx for FREE. I got a Brother HL-1240 laser printer for $0.77 (the cost of some office supplies).

MSN quickly closed this Oregon/California loophole, so if you sign up with MSN to get the $400 credit which is still available, if you cancel your ISP contract then YES you have to pay it back. Deal dead.

badauss42 - Well since there isn't a "hot deal notification service" (not yet anyways) I tell everyone this time and time again. Deals come and go so quickly. Your best bet is to bookmark Hot Deals or even make it your home page, and check it at least 3 times a day. Otherwise listen to the famous words, "You snooze, you lose".
