I couldn't find this posted anywhere. I just picked one up and thought it was a decent deal on the MS Keyboard. Staples has the Keyboard on sale for $39.94 and there's a $10 mail in rebate - (See 3/11 Ad)

Use the $10 coupon discussed here:
Anandtech Link

$39.94 +.06(to qualify for $10 coupon) - $10(Rebate) - $10(Coupon)=$20.00

Is this the Internet Keyboar PRO? Also when you mention coupon, do you mean the Staples coupon or the MIR?

I'll attempt to answer your questions:

1)It's the Microsoft Internet Keyboard Pro.
2)$39.94 is the sales price, before rebates or coupons at Staples B&M. When I tried to order on-line, staples.com showed a ~$50 price
3)There is a $10 mail in rebate. Staples gave me the form, but I don't believe that it was a Staples only rebate.
4)You don't need a student advantage card to use the $10 coupon. I just printed out the geocities coupon and presented it to the cashier - no problem getting the $10 off.

With the $10 B&M coupon my up total up front cash price was ~$33 (I splurged on a $1.00 pack of candy), including taxes.

Mailed the $10 MIR to bring my total, including taxes and rebates, to ~$23.

I think this is a great deal on a $50 keyboard. The details, except for the $10 coupon, are in the 3/11 Staples ad.

Good job. Right before you posted this I ordered the keyboard from Onvia for $39.99 and minus the 10 coupon I am paying 30. You saved 10 bucks, good deal!

This keyboard rocks!!! It got some nice curves to it. Big base, strong feel to it, plus a USB hub. Just rings with quality. I have the non pro, same smell just w/o USB hub. Got it for the same price, $20

I'll vouch for the internet pro keyboard. I got it awhile back for 30 at compusa and it's been a very solid keyboard. I've made great use of the 2 USB ports built into the keyboard so I think 20 bucks is a great deal.

It's very high quality, very nice...

Anybody know any registry hacks to change some of the hot keys...?

Thanks! I was going to order a USB hub for using my digital camera, but at this price it's cheaper to get the keyboard (and less clutter on my desk). Good find! :)

Good find Richard.

After reading the 2 posts related to this keyboard and savings, I printed out the Staples $10 off $40. Sales Supervisor was waiting on me and they had none in stock. So she said she would order it for me and look for a way around the $0.06 issue. So she ordered it on line at $49.99 plus shipping $7.95.

Then she went to the register and rang it up at $49.99 applied a $10.00 price match discount, subtotal $39.99. Charged me $0.01 for making a copy (but there was no copy made) to get it back to $40.
Then she applied the $10 off $40.00 coupon with no questions asked.

Lastly, she gave me the $10 MIR form. The kicker is that since they had none in stock, they are delivering it via UPS, at no charge. Should be here Friday. I was prepared to spend $40 for this keyboard. At $20, well, what can I say except it should go nice with my new Optical Intellimouse from Circuit City, regular $50, price adjusted to $30 after they fouled up the rebate.

For those of you wondering if the store will accept the $10 off $40, chances are they will.

I just ordered mine online. You can use the $49.99 code that's been discussed here. Purchase something for at least $60 then you must add (380981) to your cart for the $49.99 code to work. Basically $50 off $80. If you go over $100-150, add the injket toner to get $8.25 discount. You could also do this with the MS Explorer optical mouse.

The following item(s) will be delivered on 3/16/2001 by Staples
Courier:

380981 MYMAILLIST/ADDRESS BOOK 02118 Qty: 1 Price: $19.99 ea.
427853 MICROSOFT INTERNT KEYBOARD PRO Qty: 1 Price: $49.99 ea.
273151 DL2032 3 VOLT LITHIUM BATTERY Qty: 1 Price: $2.19 ea.
333551 ULTRA AA 8 PACK Qty: 1 Price: $8.25 ea.

Total Merch: $80.42
Delivery Fee: $0.00
Coupon xxxxx: -$49.99 Staples Coupon
Total Tax: $2.44

Order Total: $32.87

oops, forgot to wipe out the code

raymondb: What is the $49.99 code? Can you explain in more detail?

Folks, Post or PM, pls

Ctk,

Go to Fatwallet.com. The codes are posted there and there's a bunch of threads regarding the deal especially if buying the Visor Deluxe. But I think Staples pulled off/corrected the coupon. I tried to buy the same items again and it's not giving me the discount.

raydb, I think they can track which code numbers you've already used. Best way to use the fatwallet codes, is to pick the best discount, soonest expiration, note it down, and use the next soonest expiration next time ...

OR here if you don't care about the hubs or HATE rebates.

$24.95. Oh, you will pay tax on $50 at staples. That's $4.25 here...

From what I read, you'd have to pay shipping from Outpost.com for orders under $100. Assuming you have a local Staples B&M, I'd think that the tax at Staples would be less than shipping from Outpost. BTW, taxes would be based on $30, not $50.

Also this is not the "Pro" version - Are there other differences, except for the lack of the USB connectors?

There is a pdf version of the $20 off $20 still out there. Not sure what the rules are here about posting the URL directly, so I am going to take you on the scenic route.

1) go to dvdtalk.com

2) click on Forum at the top of the page

3) scroll down to Other Bargains (the 7th choice)

4) towards the bottom of the first page of Other Bargains is a 3 page thread on the 20-20

5) on the 3rd page is a link to the pdf version of the coupon

Now, having given you the means to find the coupon, don't be too surprised if the store does not accept it. I was able to use one yesterday, but the coupon code on the sales slip is not the one that has been on the coupon you can print. The sales clerk looked at the coupon as if maybe something was wrong, but he made it work. Don't know how much longer they are going to accept these things.

Good Luck,

spyboy

Sorry, this worked the night of the 15th, but is now dead.
