Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical Question.

Is there a way to assing button to the 2 extra buttons on the IntelliMouse optical Without the software??
When i use the software it changes the way the mouse feels and making me suck when i play Q3F, but without it i cant bind/assing anything to it. Can anyone help?

Come on ppl, one of ya have to know, it a pain in the @$$ buying a $45 mouse and the 2 extra button not working..
Anyways TTT.

If the buttons aren't working return it. My first one had defective buttons, and I returned it after the cord shorted (through no fault of my own). I found out that it was defective from the start. It shouldn't need the software for the buttons.

Sorry, I know of no other way of assigning functions to those buttons. Then again, i've never noticed an adverse effect of running the software.

unfortunetly I don't think there is a way, I could never figure one out.
What it is doing to the mouse feel, is changing the sensitivity. So, all you have to do is addjust your Q3F sensitivity accordingly to return it to normal.
