microsoft intelli mouse

i have a MS intelli mouse, plain, no optical crap, just a mouse with one of those web ball thingy, and it doesnt seem to work on my abit kt7, ive got the latest driver from MS, can anyone plz help.

never used any other drivers apart from the ones that came in windows without problems with all my mice!

I havent used any mouse drivers either and it works fine. Is it plugged into the USB port? Maybe the USB isnt working.

its a ps2 mouse, microsoft intelli eye with a old traditional ball thing in it, the wheel doesnt seem to work, the mouse works fine by it self.

what windows (doubt it matters unless you are in 95)

One thing to try: In IE, click on the wheel. A little circle with 2 arrows should pop up (works the way an old 3-button mouse would)

If that doesn't work, look under your mouse settings in the control panel. Under the general tab, make sure you have the correct mouse selected.

If that still doesn't work, you might just have a dead wheel....

in the mouse thing, it only let you select microsoft mouse or basic mouse, no optical, no explorer crap, just those two, is there anyway i can fix this, this is with win98SE, and the IE thingy doesnt work.
