I have an microsoft intellimouse optical, which on the box claims to have a limited 5 year warrenty. I was wondering if anyone had any experience dealing with them, as in, what their warrenty covers.

In the last 2 years, this mouse have taken heavy 24/7 use nearly and as of late, I can feel its quality rapidly decreasing, probably go dead in a few weeks.

Don't want to call and wait for an hour if I know for a fact that they won't even consider replacing it.

MS has a replacement hotline. you call them, read off the serial number of the mouse (or any MS hardware for that matter) and they send you a new one. its very easy.

Microsoft is normally very good about their hardware warranties. Just as explained before, just give them a call and they'll send you a new mouse. I had an original IntelliMouse Explorer (purchased over 2 years ago) that died a few months back and they sent me a new one, no questions asked and they didn't even want the old one back! You don't even have to pay a dime for shipping that way.

Wow, it's been 2 years already since optical mice were introduced.
