Microsoft Gamevoice

My friend and I tried using Gamevoice last night for the first time and couldn't get it to work.

He and I are both on Verizon DSL. He is sitting behind a Linksys router while I am on a Netgear router.

We both have the software and hardware installed correctly and have DX8 but just can't get the damn thing to connect. The other stuff such as phone dialing works fine. Does anyone have experience with this product?

I believe we need to open up ports in our routers but are unsure of the process.

Thanks

what prog are u useing to try to chat? look through the help and u might be able to find out what ports it uses, have u tried to use the mic for voice recognition how is it?

Hey,
what do you mean with, you can't make a connection? No connection at all, so that you cannot even ping him? Or just within the Gamevoice Software? I also had some problems, when ICQ and the Gamevoice Software was running at the same time. It was like, my friend could hear me, but I couldn't hear him. After I closed ICQ, everything worked fine.

Also check, if you can connect, that the 2 little microphones are responding. They're located in the Gamevoice Software, at the bottom.

I had to upgrade my sound card to make Gamevoice work, but it still won't go through my netgear RT311 router. If I remove the router it works fine but it won't pass through the firmware I guess . anyone have a clue how to configure this thing?
that may the same as your problem here too
