notepad was my original choice for pagemaking but... the previewing is so helpful and you can still edit your page via html. Helps especially with making tables, ugh!

you'd be suprised at HOW MANY people use frontpage given the choice. like 50-55% in my eyes :)

frontpage puts in 50% useless code. i use dreamweaver and i feel its a much better product
