I was in the Feedback program that was listed in Hot Deals for the free software. I (like everyone else) received this email yesterday if I want to continue to be in it for a chance at $5000.

I am actually thinking about doing it. The machine the program is on never gets used unless one of my son's friends is over. Then all they do is play BF42 on my server. But the name and city thing are kinda bugging me.

I know tell me they already have that info and I am being paranoid. :D

Thank you for participating in the Windows Feedback Program!

On April 15, 2008, a new version of the Windows Feedback Panel (WFP) software and an updated Privacy Statement will be available on the Windows Feedback Panel program website. Please take a moment to review these updates, as the new version of the WFP software will automatically update the current version on your PC.

I'd be happy if MS would just send me the check they owe.
MS lost a class action lawsuit in this state. like 2 years ago,
and the check is not in the mail. :frown:

Wait... so you're willing to give MS pretty much all information they want about what you do, what you have, how you use your machine etc etc, for the 1 / million chance at a $5000 prize? You're expected payout from that one is likely around $0.0001 or so, I wouldn't give MS (or any other company) the time of day for that.....

At least you got something of some value out of the deal, 99.99% of people will not, they will just be the suckers. Overall that's still a bad deal in my book, I wouldn't allow MS to gather pretty much everything they want about my PC and usage for a measly amount or free software.

Ya know i do nothing at all illegal. I own all my copies of games. I do not download movies or music illegal or legal. No pron watching for me, my wife is the most beautiful woman I know. All I do is surf talk to friends on teamspeak and play games.

Privacy now a days is an illusion. With cellphones, computers, online ordering, cookies, databases that will live forever, medical records stored online, banks and credit card companys being hacked there is no such as privacy.

Hell you could sell everything you own and moved into the forest living under a rock but Google would still find you. ;)

Thanks for the reminder, I just uninstalled that crap from my system.

My copy of Vista is in the mail and that's all I cared about.
