I was just on my xbox today and went to the Inside Xbox feature like I always do the first time I turn my xbox on for the day. I was going through and saw something that caught my eye. It was a video by the name of:

E3: Major's Minute: Go Behind The Scenes at E3

But I was looking at the picture before I watched the video, and its a picture of a video editor inside of OS X.

Here is the video on Xbox.com

Here

Or you can go on here about halfway down and see the picture. The title on here is Behind the scenes

Here

This amuses me, because as a Mac user, I can tell you that Macs are in no way, shape, or form better at any task than Windows machines.

lulz... touche my friend. I haven't used Final Cut Pro much, but for the programs I do use (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, etc etc) I have discovered that the performance is identical.

well, yes, i agree. i'm out on photshop, since cs4 neglected to give us 64bit like the windows version.
i feel kind of robbed since adobe has always been in bed with apple.
maybe cs5 will change that (great, another upgrade)

From what I hear, CS4 isn't that great or much better than CS3, so fuck that shit. Plus, I'm a broke-ass graphic design student, so several hundred dollar upgrade is not on the menu for a long time.

I understand that. Honestly though, the workflow is just as good if not better on Windows IMO.

the opengl improvements are nice. i was happy with the upgrade, but dissapointed by the memory usage. i will say cs4 loads and runs faster, it is more streamlined, but the user interface takes a little getting used to coming from cs3 if you use the new layout. once you get the new layout, it's a lot easier to work with. work flow is nice.

whats gonna suck for me is when osx 10.6 comes out i know they will rewrite fcs and i will have to bite the bullet and upgrade.

New interfaces and me don't usually get along. Memory usage wouldn't be an issue I wouldn't think... I just upgraded to 4GB of RAM and I'm getting a bigger, faster hard drive. However, I don't think I'm quite ready for a new interface yet... CS3/CS2 has been serving me well for quite a while.

performance isn't bad. i'm running 12gb and photoshop seems happy with it. I wasn't excited about the interface, but i figured i'd give it a try.

I guess I'll have to take a look for myself some time. I'm going to try and hold out until right before I graduate so I can still get the student discount for myself. :p

Oh, and if you want to talk Mac/Adobe Creative Suite/whatever at some other time, PM me or something. :) We kind of hijacked this thread, and it's time for me to go to sleep. :p
