Microsoft downloads

Is there any way to download Microsoft's upgrades the old fashioned way, as one big file that can be stored on disk and installed later rather than through Windows Update or similar utility that requires a download for each computer? I find a few such files at their corporate download center but not for Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2.

If it's not possible to download the entire update as a single large file, is there a way to transfer it to from one computer to another?

For IE 5.5 SP2, when you download it, choose "custom", select ALL the components you think you will ever need, then click on the "Advanced" button. You will then see an option to "download only". All the files will be downloaded to a directory called Windows Update Files (or something similar). Copy the files to a zip disk or CDR so you can take the files to other computers. You then run "ie5setup.exe" from the Windows Update Files directory directory on the zip disk or CDR to install IE 5.5 sp2 on the computers.
