Microsoft Digital Sound System + Win2k

I just upgraded to Win2k on my computer, and of course run into problems w/ my system running just the way I like it. Specifically, I'm connecting the Digital Sound System Speakers thru USB and it works fine. I'm just achin' for the other settings that I use when I'm watching DVD, specifically Surround Sound mode, and all the other equalizer settings. I was wondering if anyone have any suggestions on how to get those back into my system? And also do nay of you know whether M$ intends to support these wonderful cheap-after-rebate beasties.

Thanks,
Wong
