Anyone knows if the boot information from the Windows 2000 CD in the file 'Microsoft Corporation.img' is the same as the one that comes in the Windows XP CD?

I mean the file 'Microsoft Corporation.img' file is the same?

Sorry, for the stupid question,
Gustavo.-

It's probably not identical, though likely pretty close. What are you looking to do with it?

I lost my original WinXP CD, I keep all the content saved in a disk.
However I would like to make a bootable CD, but I can only find the .img file that comes with the Windows 2000 CD. My fears are if I can get a bootable CD and if so if it will work as the original.

Thanks Guistavo.-

I'd take a look at a couple of the slipstreaming howto sites (just do a search on google for one) many of them have the img files required to boot from and give you the exact settings to use from your burning software (even if you have the right img file you have to use the proper settings or it wont work).

The other (and probably better) option would be to contact Microsoft and have them send you replacement media.

I have already looked for info on the net, that is how I know about that file and the settings.
The problem is I do not have the file and Microsoft would not give me a new CD for free :(
