Microsoft Cordless Phone System

A friend of mine just upgraded to Windows 2000 from 98, he was using the Microsoft Cordless Phone System, but now the software just won't open at all in Win 2000.

A quick search on Microsoft website just conveniently tell us that the software is no longer supported, and will only run under 98 or 95 period.

So ... does anyone have any idea of any third party software to use with this phone?
And please no flaming (ie. just throw it away ... kind of stuff)

Have you tried compatibility mode? link

Thanks for the suggestion, with the compatibility mode on, I can start the installer.
However I just realized that the phone itself is not totally recognized by Windows 2000, I mean it knows about the phone but it just won't accept the driver from the CD.
Also the installer could not find a dll (startx.dll) ... I did a search on the file and it's not there.

Well ... I guess there is just no way to get this thing to work then.
