Microsoft 72R-00002S 4 Buttons Bluetooth Wireless Laser Notebook Mouse 5000 - OEM

$31.99
free shipping with code EMCLNMX27 for Newegg Newsletter subscribers (exp 2/25/09)

My wife and I both have the retail version of this mouse. AFAIK retail has more white plastic, so only difference is the color. There is one thumb button. Takes two AAA (comes with Energizers). Retail one comes with a carry pouch but I don't see it in the pictures or description, so it probably doesn't.

Mouse is really small, which is why it is called a "notebook" mouse. Tracks as well as any other laser mouse. Only complaint would be that the scroll wheel action is a bit stiff. We paid more for ours.

I'm not entirely sure I think this is a hot deal. You can buy Microsoft's (superior) Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 for about the same price off Amazon from numerous resellers.

This isn't that hot, but your comment is utterly false. The benefit of a Bluetooth mouse is that there's no dongle. So much more convenient.

OP, if there's a Microcenter near anyone, you can pick it up for $29.99 + tax instead of waiting on the shipping.

I don't know which mouse might be better but apparently the Mobile 8000 does have bluetooth capability so you don't have to use the transceiver which can be used as a 1GB flash drive.

"Bluetooth Mode Switch - A switch on the bottom of the mouse enables Bluetooth notebook users to connect directly to their PC without using the included transceiver"

Apparently, you can charge it while you've plugged it into the USB port, too. Wow!
