well i installed it after hearing it does quite a good job, scan for spy ware, find spy ware, get rid of spyware.

now when i start up i get a RUNDLL.EXE error saying something couldnt be executed, random tast bar icons fail to load, even though the actual program is there in taskmanager, and now for some reason my internet connection isnt firewalled by windows, nor can the firewall be activated.

ive got the hardware firewall of the NF3 to protect me though, so i have had to switch the firewall status in the security centre to "not monitored" so i dont get annoyed by the red sheild.

whats happend to my start up sequence? im baffled as to why random icons such as the power icon wont appear one start up, then be there the next, because i installed anti spyware

WTF indeed, last weekend I installed a whole bunch of Windows updates including this anti-spyware update, and guess what? First XP refused to log me on giving some "parameter incorrect" crap, and later when it DID log on, it rebooted my PC several seconds afterwards. After a few useless visits to safe mode, I finally said fsck it and did a System Restore back to the point just before the frickin updates.

:| :| :|

Then again, if it ain't broke... :frown:

Just curious, how long since your last fresh install?

I installed Microsoft antispyware on all 5 of my rigs without a hitch, WinXP updates too.

But then again I have pretty new installs on all machines.
