Hello!

I own a Creative MP3+ external sound card. I used it with a laptop and a microphone and there were no issues. Now I tried the same hardware with my desktop and everything seems to work fine, except the microphone. When I talk to someone over the net, that person hears a loud background noise and I have to yell so that the person can hear me. I disabled onboard audio and microphone boost ist off. Even when I don't talk with someone and don't mute the microphone in "Sounds and Devices" in "Control Panel" at "Sound Playback", I hear static noises in my speaker/headphones. I have the latest drivers installed (with updates from Creative).
My system:

Windows XP Pro
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300
Gigabyte 965P-S3
1 GB RAM DDR2-667

Can you give me any advice?

Chris
