Micron vs. Crucial 256mb PC2100 memory

I was just looking to buy 2x256mb PC2100 memory and I found that Crucial wants about $85 shipped after tax and
I can get the same from an online vendor for Generic Micron for about $74 shipped.
I did use the Anandtech link for Crucial.
Should I just cough up the extra $11 and go for the Crucial?
I will be buying an Epox 266a board soon.
I do plan on doing some mild OC, but I am not water cooling or anything exotic like that.

Thanks,
Mark

Crucial is a division of Micron. They manufacture their own PCB's and use Micron chips. There are a ton of vendors using Micron chips on a 3rd party PCB. Some are good, some are bad. You want a 6 layer PCB. Unless you know exactly what you are going to get, cough up the extra 11.00 and buy Crucial.

I have to strongly agree with what John said... There is alot of both good, and bad, generic memory out there... I think spending the extra $11 is money well spent...

Memory is one of the places that you do not want to skimp. I agree with the others, go on a splurge, spend that $11. You may regret it later if you don't. Sorry about the blank post, accident.
