I got on that deal, 512MB ddr pc2700 from crcual. Well, i got mine today, the memory chip is from Samsung. What's up with that? Why don't they use their own memery chip ?

Crucial occasionally uses memory chips from other manufacturers if they are unable to get the chips from Micron. Sometimes due to a shortage at Micron, usually due to other manufacturers having newer chips (size/speed) out before Micron and crucial not wanting to lose out on business.

Why would that be a problem? Samsung is some of the best RAM out there if I recall correctly. If I got a DIMM from Crucial that had Samsung chips, I wouldn't exactly be upset. :)
