Microcenter stores stocking some 1155 Asus's

If you just look at their site at least for my store in Yonkers it says only one 1155 B3 board avail the sabertooth. I bought the regular P8P67 back in jan that was returned. However when i went to the store they had the P8P67 and the LE version in stock and quite a few too with the B3 revised info on the box! (sorry no deluxe or pros on shelf) So i can now give my new build another shot must sooner than expected.

One possible problem when i got home and opened the box i see that the board itself has no markings saying its B3 or rev 3.0 like it says on the box. Only thing i saw was that it said in small letters that its rev. 1.2? Inconsistent with rev 3.0 on the box. Im waiting on a monitor to begin testing and setup, but find this mischevious and think maybe asus just added revision on the box but the motherboard is still the untouched and faulty original.

Anybody else willing to buy the P8P67 and see what it says on the motherboard?
Edit: Answer is the matching serial and rev # to the label on the box can be found on the sticker at the north side of the first of 3 pci slots going from top to bottom in respect to mobo.

Make sure the serial number on the box matches the board.. There is the remote possibility someone in the store pulled a switch ...

there are two white stickers on the mobo above ram slots and on the EATX power sockett and they dont seem to be serial #s. Any code on these labels do not match anything on the label with the serial, UPC etc on the box...

Got my p8p67 exchanged today at the cleveland store.

You'll want to look for the Rev. 3 and serial # sticker on the top reg. pci slot.

They still had a cpl left when I left.

you mean above PCIEX16_1 slot the dark blue one? it says rev 1.02 for me just to the side of the logo title of the board with no serial# sticker in that area just above mem slots and eatx pwr socket. As for the 3 regular PCI slots or all the rest for that matter have no serial or any indication of revision. They must be shafting people.

There should be a sticker with the serial number on the board ..

It will have " SN - on it " it will be later tonight before I can get a location for you off of my board ..

I don't know who " they " are, but there is the possibility someone in the store switched boards .. You might want to take it back ASAP and deal with a manager.. They might accuse you of switching it..

I would also be interested in this information. Just bought mine from Microcenter (Houston) and I do not see anything on the motherboard itself specifying it is B3 rev 3. I am also having trouble finding the serial number.

Edit: I found the sticker with the serial number on it. It is on the side of the PCI express slot (I was looking on the motherboard itself). The number matches what I have on the box. But to followup - is the serial number listed physically anywhere on the board itself or is that sticker the best Ive got?

BW5150 kindly stated rev 3.0 should be marked on the board as well which isnt on mine and yes there is two labels on my board neither say SN code. The codes on them have nothing to do with the codes on the label on the box that it should be matching.

I got receipt of my original purchase, of it being returned, and todays repurchase. They cant tell me i switched squat and even so i have with me questionably, a defective non revised P8P67 which is wanted for exchange by microcenter anyway so either way im gonna have this replaced.

Well I don't know about your board, but mine has a white sticker on the top aqua blue pci slot. (its the one above the black pici express slot).

If your mobo doesn't have a sticker I would take it back immediately.

At first when I was in the store, I had a hard time finding the serial # also but then I asked a mc tech and he pointed the sticker out to me.

You may have to turn the board so the p8p67 label is upside down and look on the back of the pci slots, thats where mine was.

Hope this help u guys. 🙂

lol after your description i also see that label on the top pci slot near black pcie, it is hidden well cause it doesnt follow other horizontal text that goes from top to bottom in respect to the mobo. Well i hope its only peace of mind from this point forward.

edit: yeah that sticker that shows REV and Serial # is all there is for distinguishment btw faulty and revised at sight. I dont wanna jynx it but there is no way of knowing if we got true revisions unless the sata2 degrade happens to someone

I see you found it..
It should look like this:

mobo%20sn.jpg

It should match the SN on the box..

I bought an original Asus 1155 from MC and got an email from mc about a survey a few days ago. I'll wait until the resulting details from the survey before switching my board.

They asked about how long i'm willing to wait to exchange due to low supply... if I could wait until april if they would include a $25 gift card etc...

Anyone else get this?

Why wait for MC ?

Asus seems to be getting them out within a few days once you do their paper work..
I registered on March 2nd, got my board on the 8th..

Maybe I can shed a bit of light on the giftcard business.
From what my local mc manager told me dont hold your breath on getting a giftcard.
There is a chance they probably wont do it.

Thats why I exchanged mine when I did, because I still have perfectly good working box.
No reason to hold out for a gc imo.

Well, Ive been running it this long without problems so I can wait to see if I'm gonna get the gift card.

too bad i did not have a working p8p67 at initial purchase other wise i would wait for the giftcard too. When i bought the B3 revision MC told me i could choose between my original purchase total (the combo special back in january) or pay current prices and receive $25 giftcard.
