If you buy online (store pickup) a Core i5 3570K 3.4GHz LGA 1155 Processor @ $189.99 (which is already ridiculously low)

Then you get $50 off a mobo of your choice.

Note: I erroneously thought this is limited to specific mobo, however it is 50$ off any mobo with i5. Corrected this post as per that info. Thanks to SithSolo1 for correction

It appears this is the normal: Buy an i5 3570K and get $50 off a z77 motherboard.

I just tested it with a few different boards and all had the $50 discount. You can get that budget one for $39 after rebate. Also since the processor is not available from the Web store you can't have these shipped.

Its still a great deal for those near Micro Centers.

Many boards get the 50 dollar discount. For example here is an asrock z77 extreme 4 board which is 89.99 after discount (it is an atx board).

Here is the GA-z77mx-d3h review

The Asrock z77 board review (as well as many other brands z77 review.)

Note the GA-z77 review compares post times between the various boards as well as overclocks temperature and voltage to reach 4.7 ghz.

Would the 3570K and the ASUS P8Z77 Pro board be a good setup for gaming?

http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0386887 is the board I'm thinking about getting with it.

Gonna buy the ASUS GTX 670 when it's available from Newegg, would I be able to run all the new games flawlessly in 1920x1080? Thank you in advance.

If that processor isnt good enough I could spring for the 3770k they have for 289.

That board is pretty high up on the food chain. It's a good board but might be more than you need anyways. Are you going to overclock your cpu to insane levels? Do you plan on running with just one video card or do you plan on doing sli? The 3570k is plenty for gaming. The 3770k would be just as good for gaming but is more geared towards those who need the xtra threads for video encoding, etc.

I'd think the 670 will be more than enough for 1080P

I'd say that's a very good deal.

I chose 2500k SB because I can buy that online for $350 which included the Z68 Asus pro from NCIX

Microcenter is 1hr away from me. :'(

2 hours drive is ... what, 150 miles or so?
So that is half a tank of a gas + 2 hours of work for saving about 100$. Its worth it unless you are very wealthy.

I drove out further for a microcenter in the past.

I make the run whenever I need a combo. It's about a 2hr round trip for me without no traffic. The prices can't be beat for the most part. The no wait for my stuff makes it worth the trip! Would suck to get a DOA motherboard tho!

Damn Intel kinda ruined IB's for me tho with the heat issues. I was looking forward to 5ghz plus but don't wanna remove the IHS to get it. Might wind up picking one up if I downsize my rig. I'm thinking mini-itx but they don't carry any motherboards. The micro-atx boards are limited and the microcenter closest to me doens't seem to ever have decent ones to me in stock.
