Get an i7 930 for $200 instead, at least then you can then get a X58 mobo that has decent PCIe lanes.

MC will change the prices anywhere from 2 to 3 times a week for some items... such as this... their website still shows $199.00

http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0331303

their ads don't reflect it on some items.. such as this.

the i920 was $199 for almost the entire time it was offered after the initial couple of months.. it did fluctuate up and then back down a couple of times the last couple of years, but MC always settled back to $199. I'd just wait a couple of days.

p.s. I work during the fall/winter shopping season at MC in the BYO department... gotta love them discounts :D

The 875k shows as $299 on the microcenter website now.

When it was on sale till June 20th. It wasn't even listed on the website for $199. It was just in their printed AD.

So probably next time it goes for $199 you'll see it disappear from website again.

Your link points at Core i7-930 Processor Boxed for $199

Not a terrible deal, but it's not what the OP was about. The 875k is a faster processor. The 875k shows as $299 on the microcenter website now.

i must have been half asleep when i wrote this.. do'h D:
