Microcenter G2 and Intel X25-V... Which one to use for boot drive?

Lets take the size of these drives out of the equation. I can run Windows 7 as a boot drive on either. I would like to know what you prefer as a boot drive for speed and reliabilty.

I get that the Intel is probably a more reliable SSD, but how much slower is it as an OS boot drive? (Besides the abysmal write performance)

I find this Microcenter G2 rather glitchy and it seems that sometimes it likes to act 'sticky' and freeze at 1 second intervals randomly. My Intel drive has never done this sort of thing before.

Thanks
Robert

If you already have issues with the Micro Center drive, then the Intel drive is your choice. I actually used these (40GB X25-V) in several machines and they work great! You don't actually do that many writes, plus it is only slow in sequential writes versus HDDs. In random writes, still blows away any HDD.

I guess its not really issues, it just doesn't seem as "smooth" as the Intel drive. Every once in a while when I go to click the close button on an app, it will just hang there for about 5 seconds then register and sometimes when I boot to the desktop, for the first 5 seconds it will hang at the start menu where you can move the mouse but nothing will open.

I had the MC brand SSD before, and I started having issues with it on my Z68 mobo where it would not boot unless I switched to IDE mode in UEFI. I say go with the Intel

Have you updated the firmware on the G2? IT came out in the spring I think.
