Makes me question whether it’s smart money to spend $330 for a 3700x.

No R5 1600 deal? I didn't see it mentioned. Has MC sold out of all of their stock of the 1600 model? Or are those still $79.99?

Edit: Oh yeah, clicking on your link, and clicking around a bit, I see the R5 1600 listed at MC for $79.99 still. Comparably, the i5-9400F is $139.99, and both are in the same performance category for gaming, AFAIK.

I've held out for Ryzen 2 for 2 years now and it has been hard to look at the likes of 1700x going for £150 and even now the 2700x going for close to £200, but I'ma hold out for that Ryzen 2 3600 for £200 just because, but if I was on anything pre ryzen on AMD or intel I'd grab a 1600x for £120 or 2600x for like £160 straight away, me? I want that special sauce though. Goddamit, gimme my Ryzen 2 3600 already AMD (in a Cartman voice)

1600 is gone from my microcenter. was 1700x $129 previously? kinda wanted to get a 3700 in a couple months, but another 1700x + board/ram would be less than just the 3700.

They bumped the price up on the 2700X to $219. Demand at $199 must have been too much.

Back to $199 at MC for the 2700X. They dropped the 2700 another $10 to $169 as well.

I just built a 5 16000 rig, Newegg still has them at $104, Amazon is out. One wonders if AMD is just slashing prices to move out all non Zen 2 chips and supply will be limited.

AFAIK they are still making Epyc 1 CPUs so they will still have 1000 series for sale until they stop making Epyc 1, that is unless they just decide to toss the chips that don't pass server spec.
