Microadvantage DVD±RW 8x Burner (40x CD-R) $29.99 AC/AR non-YMMV OM B&M

Last week, most people were getting this burner for $99.98 + Filler - $25 coupon - $50 rebate via phone order, but when I checked the webpage and called Friday, the burner had risen to $139.98 - $50 MIR, rendering that deal dead.

But now, this week, OM has this burner for $89.99 - $50 MIR in-store. Toss on the $10 off $50 coupon (Exp. 8/21) that many of you got in the mail, and it'll become $29.99 + tax on $79.99. If your coupon has no statement against electronics, this will be a non-YMMV deal.

Breakdown:
This burner $89.99 (in-store price only)
-$50 Rebate
-$10 off $50 in-store coupon
__________
$29.99

Check your local ad. It's $89.99 in my area. As you probably know, OfficeMax has several regional-specific flyers.

Also, if you look around, you can find a $10 off $75 "Visa Rewards" coupon that you simply print off. You do have to pay with Visa, however.

A note on this drive: it is rated at 40X CD-R, but the reviews state that errors crop up at 32X and above, so the highest safe burn is 24X.

Can you link the review please? I've got this drive from an earlier deal, and I've burned some CD-R's at 40x and I think (hope) they came out all right.

I did the mad dog drive deal last week and used the visa coupon and didn't use a visa CC.

hmm, i'm seeing 139.99 as the price as well.

That's the price on the web page (which I only linked for reference). The $89.99 before coupon and rebate is in-store only.
