Can anyone show me what this looks like? (ie. Fraps video or something like that?)

I don't wanna buy dual GPUs just to test this out. I was thinking of going dual GPU for my next upgrade but I may not want to depending on what micro stuttering looks like.

Thanks for any help.

Doesn't it normally happen in AFR mode? What about the other rendering modes? Are they still available? If so, do they still have the micro stuttering problem? I haven't looked into CrossFire in a while....

NFS stutters even on a single card. My single g92 Geforce does it with this game because this engine just sucks. This is just a bad example. It seems people didn't realize it stutters with a single video card.

That graph looks shady at best. Any card doesn't level out in frame rates.

Oh, my bad.

Probably because it's a crappy game so no one plays it ;)

Super tiling as been abandoned and i dont think ATi uses SFR. So most of the time, CF would be using AFR.

So, anyone else with a video of micro stuttering?

I'd really like to see it and I'd appreciate it if someone would show me.

Here's a great video displaying microstuter

I remember it vividly now from my 7800GT SLI and x1900xt CF configs:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=-5SXeR0torc

I was about to buy 2x 4870 to go along with my x48 mobo but now I'm just going to get a GTX280 (as soon as prices drop at least a few bucks)

I think that we can all agree that min and average FPS are more important than max FPS.

Does 4870 CF render the same as 1900? Also I can't watch the video at the moment, which cards are CF/SLI in the video?

that's not me, man -- some other guy.
I was just saying that video reminded me of what it was like to go dual GPU

That video shows the problem perfectly, although it varies a lot between games. It's much more apparent in some games than others.

This is true. The engine that the recent NFS games use has a fixed physics ticrate, so it always seems to stutter slightly whenever the physics goes out of sync with the rendering.
