I'm a little intrigued by the rumored new panny and olympus micro four-thirds cameras coming out.

Not fully I understand what the genre is all about though, can anyone correct me if I'm wrong

DSLR quality/size sensor in a smaller frame camera, Live View/no OVF, interchangable lenses, generally more expensive than their DSLR counterparts? (comparing them with entry level DSLR)

That's the gist of it.

Smaller is always more expensive. And mFT is MUCH smaller than an entry-level APS-C DSLR.

It uses the same type of auto focus that are in regular P&S cameras. The DSLR stuff is a little faster but apparently not by much. I saw the big fuss about this a while back and only yesterday really dug deep into it and figured out what it was all about. And obviously it does not have an actual mirror inside the camera itself like a DSLR.
