They raised the price on EVGA GeForce RT 3090 FTW3 overnight
It was $1756.99 for the last 4 months.
( $30 over MRSP IIRC )
Checking availability daily.
Now at $1869.99

Seems they have become scalpers ...?
Best Buy still at $1729.99
Anyone have an idea what they are doing ?

Link to Best Buy where they have it in stock?

Based on 1 item that was consistent for 4 months, the company are now scalpers? They've been pretty good about pricing in their entire history in my experience.

Its the same behavior as Walmart and NewEgg
( they picked up 3rd party suppliers - scalpers )
I mentioned nothing about availability at BestBuy.

Someone on these forums about 10 days ago mentioned tariffs that were delayed have now been enacted and I think the average amount was going to be $60 or $80 per card.
I haven’t followed tariff events lately so this could be wrong.

This could be an inventory issue, as in there are a certain amount purchase as $x.xx dollars that allow $1799.99 pricing, new inventory arrives at $x.xx + whatever tariff amount to $1959.99 or whatever.
Assuming you can afford it I recommend jumping on that price. This will not change in the immediate future.
Starting to feel my $260(ish) 1660ti was an awesome purchase in 2019.

This seems to be related to the tariff. The pricing change could be coming from inventory on products received before the tariff and after. I think it went into effect on January 1st, if I remember correctly. An extra 25% to build a rig now is significant. Not sure how long this will last. I doubt they are scalping, as their reputation would be severely damaged if they do. Walmart and Newegg do not, but they allow 3rd parties on their site who do.

I was considering rebuilding my rig this year, but I'll wait till later in the year to hopefully be able to take advantage of rolled back tariffs. I'm tired of "winning" this arbitrary trade war that Trump started.

Not defending the scalpers by any means since I'm still trying (and failing!) to snag myself a 3080 to complement my 1440p monitor since before x'mas.

However "value" is determined by what people are willing to pay along with cost to sellers. Even though its negatively affecting me I don't take much issue with this.

Frankly I'm just grateful my 980 is still hanging in there and runs everything I'm currently playing at decent IQ settings. (thanks to DLSS) I feel very sorry for anyone who finds themselves NEEDING to buy a GPU right now.

Hopefully the tariffs get pulled in the coming months and the GPU stocks also becomes available.

I want to avoid P&N discussions here, so I’ll be vague.
I am okay with the tariffs, I am not okay with the complete lack of strategy or planning in the tariffs.

I can't fathom anyone buying a piece of technology at that price that will be outperformed by something half the price in 3 years. Crazy.

Not exactly true with video cards anymore, well at least for the last 6 years give or take.
Improvements have dramatically slowed and high end costs have increased....a lot.
Personally I don’t see value in a card that expensive however that is just the way I value it.
