I been looking for a while now for a review on Micro ATX Motherboards to review for my new system.

I tried anandtech, tomshardware, google search and nothing.

I am looking for recent reviews on micro boards, if possible specific to AMD Socket 939 boards (if possible).

Anyone got a link or found something out there?

Thankx...

I think the only Socket 939 micro board out right now (in limited quantities) is the MSI board using the ATI Xpress 200 chipset.

Don't have the name right now, but you can find it easily on their website.

To add to that, some site DID have a review of that board - forget which - but the reference board they got had no overclocking features. Besides that it did well. And then there's the IGP, which at the moment is the best around. (Basically an X300 with half the pipes)

I have looked around and seemed that the MSI is the only one, and quite hard to find too. That really bites, cause I wanted to use the small form factor cases, tired of the old ATX full size ones.

Ohh well I quess I will try to purchase that one. I wish I could get one with NForce chipset, but they dont exist YET.

Anyone know of a nice case that supports ATX Board, but small in size (less then 16.5 inch wide, and less then 16 inch deep, desktop, not tower)?

Cause if I can find a case like that, then I will go and get the GigaByte ATX board with NForce 4 chipset. I am limited on space for the PC in my room.

Thankx all.. I appreciate it...

I would just search thru NewEgg's case section and see if anything strikes your fancy. They have TONS of stuff, and you can adjust the search so that you limit it to a certain size case. I do know there are some cases MicroATX in size, but because ofthe way the PSU is positioned, can take ATX boards. Not all that good looking though.

There are some MicroATX boards for socket 754 that have some good featurs on them if you're willing to go 754. I just recently got an Abit KV-80 that kicks some ass to go in an Antec Aria. Started out in the same position as you

Thats what I started out with, but I am trying to get the NForce Chipset badly cause I want to pair it with an NVidia Video and want it all the same, no specific reason.
The abit is the one I started with, but I need more, specially the RAM Slots, I want 4 of them cause I have 2 GB RAM but in 2 pairs, and dont want to loose it.

Now, bout them cases, Been searching since 2 days ago, and still am now, with like 6 IE windows opened for a case that will fit a ATX but small enough for me.

tried newegg, directron, google, froogle, zipzoomfly, pricewatch, htpcnews, casedepot, and nada.

Well I guess I will keep looking.

Thankx xbdestroya, I appreciate it very much. The Skt 754 not bad, but cant find the board that I want for that either.

Well, while we're here - so you had the Abit?

Did you try overclocking on it? I'm getting an AX revision 2800 from FedEx in the next day or two and am wondering what performance I can expect.

I dont have the abit, nor did I have it. I am an Abit and Asus maniac (more of Abit), and usually 99% of all their boards are very very good.

I found this while researching around the web if anyone is interested.

And I am looking at this one. I know its an ATI chipset, which I dont like that much, but just looking and thinking bou it, lol.

it has 4 DIMM slots, PCI-Express, SATA, etc etc. and Micro size.

Sorry - yeah I guess something you wrote made me think you were moving on from that board, but I see now I was thoroughly confused.

That's a good link though. The EQS board looks nice, but I can't tell if it's something that's coming to the US or not. Not that I have any idea where you are though.

I am in the US and LOOKS LIKE I GOT ALMOST WHAT I WANTED.
This is a good board, the only problem is the RAM. I have 4 pieces, and the board only has 2 slots, so I guess EBay is my next stop hehehehehe.

Very good stuff. I am gonna keep looking around. Hmm, feels like EBay will be my next stop for my current PC and second PC too lol.

Wow thats amazing! Great find!!! If I had found that board in my earlier research it might have changed my entire system plan. Well, as it stands now I'm going socket 754, overclock attemp aiming for 1.8--->2.2, Zalman, and maybe a Radeon 9550 or 9600 without fan for silent computing.

I really wanted PCI express and socket 939 originally though, if only for definite 90nm.

If U dont mind me asking, why cant U just sell the unit on EBay and get a new one? Just asking, since U said U wanted the 939 badly.

Thankx

Yeah but with my processor already in the mail - it just seems like a lot of effort. It's something I'm thinking about right now though as we speak. I would need to know if this board had the overclockign features of NF4 enabled - going to go look for some reviews rght now. If so, then it might be worth it for me to go through the hassle. If not though, I feel like the value I'll be squeezing out of my 2800 might make it worth it to stick with what's coming together already.
