This is pretty awesome. People who were previously ineligible to vote will now be registered when they return to society. We should aim for a just and universal restoration of rights, and I think this is a small but nuch-needed step in the right direction.

And not holding court fees and bullshit like that over their heads (looking at you, Florida)

There is only an extremely limited set of circumstances where we should permanently take away voting rights. Betraying the nation is one. Insurrection is another.

GQP will be frothing at the mouth over wider voting rights. I mean, they lambasted states that automatically register someone to vote when they get a driver's license, with some flimsy paper thin excuse it will lead to more voter fraud. Nevermind that all documents needed for a driver's license are exactly the same as to what one would need to register to vote.

Rest assured if any legislation gets submitted that hurts any chance of any Republican being elected they're going to treat it like the plague, no matter if it benefits the vast majority of the people who live in our country including every working class conservative who have repeatedly proven that they will not hesitate to vote against their own best interests just because the Democrats offered it up. They will even support their elected politician's efforts to take away every essential gov't provided social service and benefit that millions of them rely on simply because they were told it's socialism.

Yes, millions of them really are that stupid as proven by the corrupted politicians they keep voting into office.
