Lot of my clubbing friends drink it. But they don't really drink it because its good...they just like it because its trendy and crazy.

Yup. My sources at UofM tell me that students have already started stocking up and the stores will of course continue to stock them until this 30-day window is up.

Umm....cocaine is banned unless you're doing eye or nasal surgery.

we werent talking legality i thought we were talking safety of alcohol and stimulants. my point is the combination is as old as alcohol and stimulants and while it may not be "healthy" it is certainly safe.

Now that the college has made a big deal out of it people will just start mixing Red Bull with alcohol.

yea hard to operate a zipper with both hands duck taped to a 40

'twould be a good lead-in to get a lady to mess around with your crotch area, no?

:hmm:

on second thought....I'm assuming there aren't too many gals around if you and your bro are hanging out with 40s duct-taped to your hands.

lol, no.

not that I agree with banning it, as I suggested that we should just let the idiots kill themselves or head to the hospital in droves with alcohol poisoning/racing heart rates or whatever. But safe in comparison to the typical 4% schwilly piss-water that these mouth-breathers are accustomed to drinking is a silly assertion.

the sensationalist and irresponsible(you know its irresponsible when you are using phrases as "in droves") media reporting of any such incidents included almost exclusively cases of teens breaking the law drinking underage.

Alcohol and caffeine has been consumed safely by adults years and years and years.

Instead of pointing the finger at these drink companies perhaps these parents and administrators should be punishing the mouth breathers for breaking the law in the first place.

Caffeine and Alcohol Equivalents:

* Four Loko has roughly the same alcohol content as wine and some craft beers, and far less alcohol by volume than hard liquor.
* A can of Four Loko also has roughly the same amount of caffeine as a tall Starbucks coffee.

The Safety of Combining Caffeine and Alcohol:

* The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is examining the safety of combining caffeine and alcohol and, as part of this investigation, is looking into about 40 different caffeinated alcoholic products, including our products.
* We’ve complied with the agency’s request and have submitted a GRAS study showing that combining caffeine and alcohol is safe – a practice that is by no means new or novel.
* The FDA does not currently regulate caffeinated alcoholic beverages; the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, (TTB), a division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) does.

Flavored Alcoholic Beverages:

* Flavored alcoholic beverages are nothing new; today bubble gum, raspberry and blueberry vodkas are all on the market – all with several times the alcohol content of Four Loko or Four Maxed.
* Other, widely-accepted beverages, such as Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Twisted Tea and Smirnoff Ice, have similar flavors.

Our Cans:

* Our cans feature seven different warnings about the alcohol content and the need for an ID for purchase.
* Our ABV warnings are in a font as large as the federal government will allow.
* We were the first caffeinated alcoholic beverage company to ad “WE ID” tags to our cans.
* Four Loko’s can colors are no brighter or more appealing than the blue, red, and green labels of established beer brands like Budweiser and Heineken.

A Commitment to Responsible Drinking:

* We are proud of the work we do with our stores and distributors to ensure our products are used properly and only by adults of legal drinking age.
* We share materials and information with them and we communicate regularly with them about the importance of stocking our products in the appropriate areas of the stores and asking for IDs at the point of purchase.
* A full 100 percent of our distributors receive and share our responsible drinking materials, and we feature 17 of these materials on our website.

On another large forum I frequent people are buying it by the case now.

Michigan has stupid liquor laws. I especially don't like the state minimum prices for liquor.

The caffeine doesn't bother me, I just hate drinking the 660 calories that's in each can.

very mixed results with that, personally i had my GF do it for me the times i played 40 hands, people without GFs either tried to get someone to do it for them or tried to hold it in till they got through both 40s, that didn't always end well for them, but it was funny for everyone else, and yes we had some women play as well, they had it easier as their friends would help them

So it seems to be a given that this stuff tastes awful. For those who have tried all (or most) of the flavors, however, what is the most tolerable?

It's sold all over here. I enjoy it. I like a can every now and then. I'm going to be pissed if the dumbasses in state government make it illegal here.

I think you missed my argument, entirely.

so, what happens when you take the saturday evening binge habits of a dude accustomed to drinking 15 cans of 4% piss water, and replace that with 10-15 cans of 12% fruity caffeine shots?

You get an idiot on his way to the hospital. ...and lol at suggesting that college students are "responsible adults." I would have been insulted having been called that when I was in school! :p

Anyway, like I said....banning is stupid. 90% of laws made to protect people from themselves are misguided. I really have no problem with thinning the herd in this manner. Sure, it would be tragic. not like it would be an epidemic, though. A few kids die from this, then no one will touch it. Likely before it gets banned everywhere.

lemon lime is the newest and it's pretty good

as for the rest, just avoid fruit punch
