When I was a kid I grunted a lot playing football. Until a coach told me that you aren't trying to fuck the guy, you're trying to tackle them.

probably started out as an exertional grunt but its probably more mental for a lot of these players now. its just something they do.

it did phase out. Now we have loud grunting, which phased out into LOUDER grunting

I can see why a player might grunt or make noise getting to and hitting a ball, but it is sorta silly how out of hand it has gotten.

they were talking about it once. one of the female tennis players said the younger girls are taught to do it.

it does distract the other player to apoint and anything you can do to get a distraction legally is good.
